Club History

In the winter between 1981 and 1982, there were six guys that got together to form a car club. These six guys named the club, designed the logo, wrote the constitution, chose club colors and called the first meeting. Eleven guys attendee the first meeting and all eleven were accepted into the club with one vote. The club has remained tight knit over all the years, helping each other work on street rod events, swapping labor, with emphasis being on traveling together to street rod events all over the United States. Six of the original members remain with several other members' only months behind in longevity.

Immediate Success

In 1984, the club hosted the first annual Road Knights Blue Light Special rod run with 48 participants attending; the run has now grown to nearly a 600 car event. For the past ten years, the club has been the host club for the Goodguys Colorado Classic event. The club also hosts two cruise nights each year and has a Memorial Day Cruise visiting and putting flowers on the fallen members graves.

A tight-kit group

To keep the club tight knit, active membership is limited to twenty members and currently has no openings. The club is strictly a pre-1949 street rod club. Anyone is welcome to run with the club to events and all meetings are open to visitors. The club meets once a month at various locations. The club has only one officer, the correspondent, who takes minutes at the meetings. The club has a drawing in January of each year for "member of the month" with that member being president and conducting the meeting for the month he was drawn. Dues have been and are still only $10 per year but the "member of the month" has to buy the booze!
